About This Course

In this course, members of the Wikimedia movement who are interested in becoming a Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustee candidate will learn about the eligibility criteria and what to expect in the Trustee role. By the end of the course, learners will have a clear understanding of the qualifications, responsibilities, and expectations of Trustees as well as an opportunity to reflect on one’s own interest and readiness.

Requirements

There are no requirements to complete this course. Anyone curious about the WMF Board of Trustee role is welcome to enroll.

Margo Lee

In her role as Deputy Chief of Staff, Margo Lee works closely with the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. She is a nonprofit Board relations and governance professional with over ten years experience working with Boards and executive leadership. Margo has been with the Wikimedia Foundation for over three years.

Beverly is a Senior Learning and Development Strategist on Wikimedia Foundation's Community Development team. She leads initiatives that support the skill and leadership development of Wikimedia community members globally and across the movement. Her aim is to help anyone keen on contributing to the free knowledge ecosystem -- whether through on-wiki contribution, off-wiki organizing, or otherwise -- develop the skills and confidence to participate independently, collectively, and joyfully.

Anamaría is a multimedia and instructional designer at WMF. She has contributed to Organizer Lab, Africa Growth Project, and WikiforHumanRight. Her diverse professional background includes social communication, graphic multimedia design, DH, educational technology, and multimedia production. Anamaría loves topics related to technology, community, and graphics and how to combine them to make them graphically attractive and understandable.
